Nail trend: Diagonal tips

Image Des

It's a Monday, which means we're well into the week here in Dubai and I'm in need of a pick-me-up. What better way to lift your spirits than jazzing up your nails? Two tone styles are big for S/S'13 - from half moons, to colourful takes on the classic French mani. However, my favourite are the quirky diagonal geometric tips, which complemented Lauren Moffatt's Spring 2013 collection, so I decided to give it a go myself. What do you think? It would have gone very well with this dress that I wore the other day!

I used three Nail Art, by Skin Art, polishes to create this look. First I painted on two layers of the taupe-coloured "Mine's A Skinny Latte" (don't you just love that name!) then, once it was completely dry, I carefully swiped a brushstroke of "Pumpkin Pie" diagonally across the tip. I have quite steady hands so just used the normal brush, but if you need to you can stick some Sellotape across your nail to get the line straight. To finish off, I coated each nail with "It's Crystal Clear", which made them super shiny.

I have worn this brand of nail polish a couple of times before and I am seriously impressed with its staying power - it remains perfect for about 5 days which is a record for me, as I'm so prone to chipping them. Skin Art also sells nail tattoos which are seriously cool so I am definitely going to experiment with them soon!

*Disclaimer: I was given these products to try out and review. As a blogger, when you start receiving things to review, I think you have to make a decision about what your policy is going to be. Mine is this: I am definitely open to trying out any kind of product but this does not mean I am necessarily going to give it a favourable review. I am not obligated to write good things about any product - this is what sets bloggers apart from the press. This also means, though, that if I say I like it, I do really like it!
