Copenhagen photo diary

Apologies for the delay (it was my first week on the new job this week, so life has been hectic) but my Copenhagen photo diary is finally here. Looking back through them has made me seriously miss this place - I was only there for a few days but I felt like we connected, we bonded. Paisley and I spent our time cycling around and seeing the sights from our bikes, from the colourful town of Nyhavn to the insane island of Christiania. This city feels alive, beautiful, trendy and grungy, and I totally fell in love with it.

This cafe, Kalaset, does probably the best breakfast in Copenhagen. It's a tiny little space, not touristy at all (I got the recommendation from Spotted by Locals), the tables and chairs are all mismatched  one wall is adorned with old radios, and the staff are lovely. All of the jams, Nutella and Ketchup are homemade (and unbelievably delicious) and there are a whole host of vegan and vegetarian options as well. Definitely one of my favourite little finds of our entire trip...

We also couldn't resist doing some serious shopping. It's almost as if Paisley and I were trying to make up for the last three years of lost time by cramming in all the eating, drinking and shopping together that we could into one week! We're a terrible influence on each other and our bank accounts are now looking extremely sparse but, hey, it's not often that we see each other so we're allowed to misbehave!

The hostel that we stayed at was really wonderful - Danhostel Copenhagen Downtown, I would recommend it to anyone - so we ended up spending a fair amount of time just relaxing there. We would use the free wifi, I'd read my book on a beanbag whilst Paisley wrote her travel diary. Then happy hour would hit, we'd order a cider or cocktail, start chatting to some other travellers and the night would be away!

What a fabulous city, what magnificent people and what an all-round phenomenal holiday.
